Nagging Frustrations

Posted by over_the_EdGE at 02:41 PM on July 12, 2006.

I haven't blogged in a long time. Ugh, how many lazy bloggers like me must say that each time they update?

It's like a public apology to people who probably aren't even interested anymore.

BLARGH. This is what blogs should be. This onomatopoeic word encapsulates everything that I'm going through right now. Any attempt to articulate it, such as this entry, will only be in vain.

So why bother?

I just have to.

I feel like running around in circles (something I do literally now twice a week).

Blargh.

I feel compelled to do something that cannot be done or at least something I'm not accustomed to doing. It pushes me to go through with it, but I can't. However I must. And I musn't.

Like a vomitty, pungent purple, avocado green mess.

I can't give it up, but I feel like purging it from my body.

Hallelujah!

Hmmm, what am I waiting for? Why am I even here damn it?!?

Hay. I just sighed. Out loud at that.

People are probably getting sick of listening to my incessant whining.

Beautiful. Maybe I'll stop.

For now.

Rambled ramblings from this dandy fool.

I present Today's Youth

Posted by over_the_EdGE at 12:55 PM on July 13, 2006.

I was a little bit excited when I found out that I'd be handling the freshman advanced English class, but I didn't know then what lies before me in the road ahead.

I give you:

1. Is there classes tomorrow?
2. so there is sclasses tom?
3. there are classes tom?
4. there is school tom?

That's just sentence construction! Never mind the typos, but please this takes the cake.

They were spreading this link declaring that there are no classes tomorrow, but note the preparations for the 20th Anniversary of the EDSA Revolution, which was of course last February. I checked and well, true enough the article wasn't on the list of today's news.

So I sent them a message pointing them to this URL and saying that this is today's news; the article you're spreading is there. Tarry a little before you start perpetuating your own declarations of tomorrow's cancellation of classes.

Okay, I admit I complicated it a bit, but people came up to me and said...so Cher, wala na talagang pasok tomorrow?

Let me get out my carving knife....

Pahr-tay

Posted by over_the_EdGE at 02:27 PM on July 31, 2006.

Last Saturday, I had a small party at my house. It started off as get-together for the not-so-new English Dept newbies (Donna, Jake, James, Jewel and Barbs), but it quickly escalated to a departmental party.

I cooked a couple of dishes, mainly a cut-back version of my mushroom pasta and my pseudo-Japanese fried rice. There was also chicken tonkatsu, inihaw na tilapia at bangus, tahong na halabos and then some. Mrs. O brought some roast chicken, while Aids brought the ice cream, Thess brought yummy cakes, Ms. Aims, Sharwin provided the drinks. Oh yeah, Eric brought wine.

My college friends, whom I haven't been with since Holy Week, also arrived and we had loads of fun (mostly at my expense) and they brought a whole sinful Oreo cheesecake from Sweet Inspirations.

It was a mixed-group so I was nervous about balancing it, but both groups came in ample numbers so they took it upon themselves to entertain each other.

People stuffed themselves silly and drank a little bit to soothe the night's little festivity. It was good.

A certain someone didn't show up without a word, but bahala nalang sya. :p Let's see nalang kung pupunta ako ng party nya, hahahaha.
